Festival raises its curtain in Berwick
AN ESTIMATED 10,000 visitors are expected to descend on Berwick next month for an international film festival - signalling a massive tourism boost on the Tweed.
It’s curtain-up on the programme for the 6th Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival – five days of film and video art from home and abroad, showcasing a number of UK premieres and specially-commissioned pieces.
The festival will be staged from 15-19 September at the Maltings Theatre & Arts Centre and at a host of unique locations across the historic border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

BALTIC’s Summer Season Preview
BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art launched its Summer exhibitions with a bang, with a special Summer Season Preview on Friday 18th June with a bang. Internationally-acclaimed artists Cornelia Parker, John Cage and the Cage Mix provided a feast for the senses, using differing approaches to investigate the visual representation of sound. The evening brought together World Cup fans as well as art enthusiasts and was kindly Ssupported by Laurent-Perrier and Kirin Ichiban,. this event incorporated the World Cup, with a screening of the England vs. Algeria match to cater for football afficionados as well as art enthusiasts.
