A new gallery is set to open in Newcastle next month after building a formidable reputation for selling art on-line. Opus Art’s new gallery will herald a new era for commercial art and designer furniture in the North East.
The gallery will offer art and design lovers a personal experience, where they can appreciate the work at close quarters, and chat to experienced consultants. Opus Gallery guarantees to deliver a constantly changing programme of exhibitions featuring both internationally established and emerging artists, photographers and designers. Located in a renovated church hall in Gosforth, a substantial financial investment has been made turning the existing 5,000 sq. ft space into a state of the art exhibition space, editioned prints room, conservation framers and Art Cafe.
The gallery will showcase original works of art and exclusive limited edition prints by the world’s premier contemporary artists, including Damien Hirst, Sir Peter Blake and Andy Warhol, along with urban street and graffiti art by Banksy and Faile. A collection of contemporary photography features rare vintage prints by masters of photography Helmut Newton and Jeanloup Sieff. Alongside an extensive catalogue of art and photography is a range of contemporary lighting and furniture and iconic pieces by leading designers including Norman Foster, Phillipe Starck, Tom Dixon and Eames.
